The Training Camp Blog with Jeff Mans Fantasy Football Search Season Pass
The Raiders WR1, ChazSchilens injured his lower leg in a non-contact injury while running a route in practice this afternoon. The Raiders are holding a scrimmage against the 49ers for the next couple of days. Schilens was cutting on a route when he went down. He was able to get up but had to be helped to the locker room. He is currently undergoing treatment by the medical staff. We'll have an update when one becomes available.
***UPDATE*** Well that didn't take very long! Schilens has been diagnosed with a broken bone in his foot that will keep him out of action for at least 4 weeks. He is on crutches for the time being. He did talk briefly with reporters and said that it would take a miracle for him to be ready by the start of the regular season.
Huge blow to the Raiders offense as Schilens was actually looking quite good and was really their only weapon through the air at this point. Expect even more running of the football now and for the team to possibly add a veteran WR or at least a camp body to cover what is now a giant opening at the wide receiver position.
