25. Antonio Cromartie, San
Diego Chargers (Bye Week:
5)
60 solo tackles, 4 assisted;
2 INT, 1 TD
Further proof that interceptions
are not something that you can
count on repeating necessarily
year after year, Cromartie
picked off 10 passes in 2007,
then dropped down to just two in
2008. This guy has the chance
to be great fantasy wise
though. He gets good tackle
numbers for a cornerback, not to
mention that he is the kind of
guy who has a knack for finding
the endzone when he gets the
ball in his hands. Going into
just his fourth year, Cromartie
is the kind of defender with a
lot of upside and would be a
steal as your third defensive
back.
26. Ken Hamlin, Dallas
Cowboys (Bye Week: 6)
53 solo tackles, 21 assisted;
1 sack, 1 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR
"The Hammer" is a good story
after suffering what seemed to
be a career threatening neck
injury a couple of years back.
Well, Dallas wisely scooped him
up after he was cleared to
resume playing again, they are
reaping the rewards. Hamlin has
a very reckless style and loves
to lay the wood on anybody
unlucky enough to be carrying
the football in his vicinity. I
expect his tackle numbers to
increase in 2009, and some of
the peripherals will likely go
up a little too. Hamlin is a
solid IDP player.
27. Sean Jones, Philadelphia
Eagles (Bye Week: 4)
48 solo tackles, 8 assisted;
4 INT, 1 FF
Jones bolted from Cleveland to
one of the better defensive
teams in all of football. Jones
should walk right into the role
previously held down by Brian
Dawkins who was a pretty good
IDP player in his own right.
Not really a guy racks up the
sacks, Jones should find his way
to the quarterback with his new
team. Look for him to have a
good bump in his numbers a year
after having knee surgery.
28. Chinedum Ndukwe,
Cincinnati Bengals (Bye
Week: 8)
43 solo tackles, 21 assisted;
3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FR, 1 TD (11
games)
Ndukwe dealt with some injury
trouble last season, but the guy
recorded at least six combined
tackles (solo and assisted) in
every game he started but one.
He also recorded a sack in two
of the final four games that he
played. The Bengals did go out
and sign veteran Roy Williams,
but Ndukwe should still be the
starter in 2009. I firmly
believe that he will fly under
the radar in drafts and you
should be able to get him near
the very end. Good news for you
is that he will perform for you
much better than where you are
able to take him in your draft.
29. Terrence McGee, Buffalo
Bills (Bye Week: 9)
61 solo tackles, 5 assisted;
3 INT
For four straight seasons, McGee
has collected at least 60 solo
tackles and outside of one
season he has had three or four
interceptions. McGee also
carries extra value in those
rare leagues that reward
individual players for punt
return yards and touchdowns.
However, even if you have a
traditional IDP league, he will
help your defense as a third
defensive back.
30. Brian Dawkins, Denver
Broncos (Bye Week: 7)
64 solo tackles, 11 assisted;
3 sacks, 1 INT, 6 FF, 1 FR
After 13 seasons with the
Philadelphia Eagles, Brian
Dawkins is taking his hard
hitting style to the Broncos.
He has been an incredibly
consistent IDP performer
throughout his career, and even
though he is 36 years old, 2009
should be no different. Look
for Dawkins to get at least 60
solo tackles, two to four sacks,
three or four picks and some
forced fumbles and recoveries as
well.
31. Josh Wilson, Seattle
Seahawks (Bye Week: 7)
69 solo tackles, 7 assisted;
1 sack, 4 INT, 3 FF, 2 FR, 1 TD
32. Brian Williams,
Jacksonville Jaguars (Bye
Week: 7)
74 solo tackles, 8 assisted;
2 INT

2 sacks, 3 INT, 2 FF

5)
75 solo tackles, 13 assisted;

Browns (Bye Week: 9)
61 solo tackles, 5 assisted;
3 INT, 2 FF, 3 FR, 1 TD
