Injury News August 4th
Vikings' QB Tarvaris Jackson has been doing some throwing in practice and is wearing a protective brace to help his knee sprain. He is still thinking that he will be ready for the first preseason game, but I think he will enter the season as the backup with or without this injury. This is definitely a setback for a guy trying to win a job.
Braylon Edwards missed his fourth day of practice with an injury the team won't talk about. Eric Mangini is doing his best (yet pathetic) attempt to be the Patriots and not talk about injuries so there is no timetable for his return. Rumors are the Braylon hurt his ankle playing basketball, but no one will confirm that.
Reggie Bush went back to practice today wearing a sleeve on his surgically repaired left knee. He missed two days of practice, but was back at it today and apparently looked fine. There is apparently still some swelling, but it seems that the Saints are optimistic wh will be OK.
Kurt Warner is still having some pain in his surgically repaired hip, which is a little cause for concern. He had the surgery in March and the timetable was six to twelve months. Don't be surprised if Warner doesn't play a ton in the preseason, but he has the weapons and he has the experience so he still should be fine.
Albert Haynesworth returned to practice on Tuesday after missing two days with some left knee trouble. Haynesworth received an injection of fluid in his knee, which apparently has become routine for him. Jim Zorn has said that this is not a big deal and Haynesworth should have no problem playing a full schedule.
Texans CB Jacques Reeves broke his leg in practice today, and likely will miss six to eight weeks which will run into the beginning of the season. Reeves is a decent fantasy play in IDP leagues, but should obviously be ignored now until he is able to return.
